Concert C: Grace Before Sleep
Grace Before Sleep is a concert about the power of music and love to inspire us towards gratitude, even in the midst of difficult times. From a celebration of the perfection and fragility of roses in Morten Lauridsen’s sensuous Rose Songs; to Benjamin Britten’s rhapsodic plea to St. Cecilia, music’s patron saint, to inspire us with “celestial fire;” to Kim André Arnesen’s deeply moving exploration of the triumph of the human spirit in “Even when he is silent;” together we travel a journey ending in gratitude and joy.
Guest artists Michal Palzewicz, cello; Sherril Wood, flute; are joined by actor Geoffrey Riley, who reprises his popular depiction of WA Mozart.
