This concert explores themes of compassion, love of nature, and the yearning of the heart for music and for love. World-class poetry of Göthe, Rilke, Lorca, Robert Burns, and Mother Teresa is beautifully enhanced in passionate art music by Johannes Brahms, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Morten Lauridsen; as well as in folksong-based music from Scotland, Finland, Latin America, and Haiti.
